WHAT DO WE WANT?
We just want everyone to be able to live, not just survive. To feel free, rather than restricted. And we want everyone to have a decent income and be able to participate.
We can do this. After all, the Netherlands is enormously wealthy. We're going to make sure that politicians distribute this wealth more evenly, starting with a fair minimum wage of €14 per hour. This will also increase the income of people on benefits and old-age pensions. In order to achieve this, we are building a strong movement that has solidarity and equality as its fundamental values. Read more about our fundamental values here.
The high level of inequality in the Netherlands is mainly felt by workers, women, people who differ from the physical norm and people of colour. For this reason, we feel that the fight for €14 is inextricably linked with feminism, anti-racism and the battle against all forms of oppression.
WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?
Two million people are not currently benefiting from the country's economic growth. People who earn the minimum wage are trapped and unable to grow and benefit as a result. In fact, over the past 40 years the value of their income has dropped by 20%! Meanwhile, the profits of large companies just keep growing. This will not stand. We are rising and standing up to this injustice.
WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?
Towards 14 will no longer allow this unfair distribution to continue. We are rising, taking a stand and fighting for fair distribution. Currently, it's the large corporations that politicians are listening to. If we all rise and take a stand, the politicians will have to listen to us. We need them to change the law and raise the minimum hourly wage to €14.
Rise with us, take a stand and take part!
